OVERNIGHT REST AREA

This natural waterhole in the Elvire River is a popular swimming spot for locals and visitors to the area.

Facilities include : NO picnic tables : Fireplaces : NO toilet : NO water : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all except the largest caravans.

Travel southeast from Halls Creek along the Duncan Highway for 13 kilometres then turn north onto the dirt road. The rest area is 2 kilometres away.

Little Panton River

DAY USE ONLY REST AREA

This is a long drive-through rest area on an old road. There is an entrance on both the southern and northern side of the river with a low concrete bridge crossing the river. The picnic table is on the northern side of the river.

Facilities include : Picnic tables : NO barbecues/fireplaces : NO toilets : NO water : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans.

Located on the Great Northern Highway, 46 kilometres north of Halls Creek and 117 kilometres south of the Turkey Creek Roadhouse on the eastern side of the highway.

Leycesters Rest – Ord River

OVERNIGHT REST AREA

This rest area is just off the highway on an old road with very little shade. It is on the banks of the Ord River and the entrance is on the southern side of the Ord River Bridge. There is plenty of room for turning around.

Facilities include : Picnic tables : Fireplace : Toilet : NO water : Rubbish bins provided : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans : Maximum stay of 24 hours.

Located on the Great Northern Highway, 100 kilometres north of Halls Creek and 63 kilometres south of the Turkey Creek Roadhouse.

Spring Creek Rest Area

OVERNIGHT REST AREA

There are two rest areas here to choose from. The first one is a drive through rest area beside the highway with no shade and suitable for the biggest of caravans. The second one is nearer the creek with tracks leading down to the river amongst shady trees and more suited for small to medium caravans.

Facilities include : Picnic tables : Barbecues : Toilet : NO water : Rubbish bins provided : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all but the largest caravans.

Located on the Great Northern Highway, 107 kilometres north of Halls Creek and 56 kilometres south of the Turkey Creek Roadhouse. The drive-through rest area is on the eastern side of the highway and 1 kilometre south of the Spring Creek Bridge. The other rest area is on the western side of the highway and 100 metres south of the Spring Creek Bridge.

Muluks Rest Area

This rest area is just off the highway and surrounded by scrubby bushes that don’t give much shade. There is a turning circle at rest area, making it easy for larger vehicles to turn around.

Facilities include : Covered picnic tables : NO barbecues/fireplaces : NO toilet : NO water : Rubbish bins provided : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans.

Located on the Great Northern Highway, 121 kilometres north of Halls Creek and 42 kilometres south of the Turkey Creek Roadhouse on the eastern side of the highway and the northern side of Fletcher Creek.
