Seymour is situated at the junction of the Hume Freeway and Goulburn Valley Highway. The town lies on the banks of the Goulburn River and nestled in a picturesque valley at the base of the Tallarook Ranges. The town has a population of around 6,500 and services the surrounding agricultural industries which are primarily horses, cattle, sheep and wine. It also services the nearby military base of Puckapunyal which is an important training centre for the Australian Army. The Seymour Information Centre is on the corner of the Goulburn Valley Highway and High Street.
