The township of Berri is situated on the Old Sturt Highway which runs south of the Sturt Highway. It is surrounded by thousands of hectares of irrigated vineyards and orchards. The Information Centre is on the foreshore of the Murray River between Vaughan Terrace and Ahern Street. Adjacent to the Information Centre is Sturt’s Memorial which was erected in 1936 to commemorate Charles Sturt's 1830 voyage down the Murray River.
