This town has a large Indian population. They initially arrived as labourer's to work in the banana plantations and today 90% of the plantations are owned by the Indian population. However the bananas are slowly being replaced with blueberries.

The Woolgoolga Information Centre is on the corner of Beach Street and Boundary Street on the left as you head east. There is a football oval and skate park on the opposite side of the street.
