Warialda is the service centre for the local agricultural sector. Farms around Warialda produce wheat, sorghum, barley, sheep, beef and cattle. The town straddles the Warialda Creek, with the Stonehenge National Park to the southeast. The renowned Wells Gem and Mineral Collection is housed in the Warialda Information Centre and includes rough cut and polished stones. An interesting collection of shells is also on show. The Information Centre is on the corner of the Gwydir Highway and Holden Street which is at the western entrance to town.
