Wardell is on Pacific Highway (A1)
Wardell is known for it's landmark bridge, built to replace the ferries and barges that were used to transport cedar and sugar cane in the 1800s. Wardell is situated on both sides of the Pacific Highway and both sides of the Richmond River. This small village has a number of buildings that are heritage listed including the Royal Hotel, the former National Bank and the Catholic Church. Pick up a brochure from the Ballina Information Centre before you take a stroll around.
