Wilks Park

OVERNIGHT REST AREA

This is a lovely large grassy area only a few hundred metres from the Murrumbidgee River, with shady trees scattered throughout the rest area. Camping is not permitted but self contained vehicles can stay for a few days.

Facilities include : Picnic tables : Electric barbecues : Toilets : Water : Rubbish bins provided : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans - self contained vehicles only : Maximum stay of 72 hours : Dump Point.

Turn east off the Olympic Highway at the northern entrance to town, at the roundabout, 5 kilometres south of the roundabout signposted to North Wagga Wagga and 2 kilometres north of the Olympic Highway/Sturt Highway roundabout, onto Travers Street. Travel 1.5 kilometres, cross over the Murrumbidgee River and entrance to Wilks Park is 500 metres on the left.

Oura Beach Reserve

OVERNIGHT REST AREA

This large grassy reserve is on the banks of the Murrumbidgee River. There are plenty of trees for shade and their is even a small sandy beach.

Facilities include : Covered picnic table : Wood barbecues - supply your own wood or you can use the fallen branches from the trees : Pit toilet – wheelchair accessible : NO drinking water : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans.

Turn east off the Olympic Highway at the northern entrance to town, at the roundabout, 5 kilometres south of the roundabout signposted to North Wagga Wagga and 2 kilometres north of the Olympic Highway/Sturt Highway roundabout, onto Travers Street. Travel 3.5 kilometres then turn right onto Mill Street. Follow the signs to Oura for 14 kilometres then turn right onto Wagga Wagga Street.After 1 kilometre turn right onto the dirt road signposted to 'Beach Reserve’ and follow it to the river. for 1 kilometre.
