Sutton Forest is on Illawarra Highway (A48)
Montrose Berry Farm is a family run business and when the berries are ripe, visitors are invited to come and pick their own blueberries, raspberries, loganberries, autumn raspberries, red currants and hazelnuts (conditions apply). January to March is normally a good time to go but call before you visit to ensure that the berries are ripe as each year can be different.
Ask to be put on their email list and they will notify you when the berries are once again available for picking. If you happen to be in the area when the fresh berries are not available you can always purchase frozen berries, jams and pies, which are all made on the premises.
The farm is located in Ormond Street, Sutton Forest. Turn south off the Illawarra Highway onto Exeter Road, then turn right onto Ormond Street.
These gardens are simply beautiful and well worth a look. They are set on 2.5 hectares and divided into 20 sections with each section uniquely different, some of which are the Cottage Garden, Kitchen Garden and Monastery Garden. Make sure you keep an eye out for the red cows. The garden is open for inspection from mid September to mid May. No dogs are allowed so leave your pooch at home.
Located on the Illawarra Highway, 6 kilometres east, from the Hume Highway/Illawarra Highway Junction and 1 kilometre west of the village of Sutton Forest (650 metres past Exeter Road). Turn off the highway onto the lane way beside the gardens where there is plenty of parking.
