Sawtell is a pretty seaside town with large fig trees lining First Avenue which is the main street through the town. There are boutique shops, galleries and lots of al fresco cafes. Sawtell Beach lies between Boambee Headland to the north and Bonville Headland to the south. This 2 kilometre long beach has a Surf Lifesaving Club and vegetated dunes running along the entire length of the beach.

Tourist information can be obtained from 'The Treasured Times', an antiques and collectables store at 63 First Avenue in Sawtell.
