Moonbi is a small village with a general store, post office, service station, road house, produce retailer, public school, recreation ground, pony club grounds, nursing home and a rubber belting supplies and engineering company.

When traveller along the New England Highway the Moonbi Range is notable for it’s major uphill climb as motorists ascend from the bottom of the First Moonbi Hill to the Northern Tablelands and the village of Bendemeer.
