Lyndhurst is a 'blink and you'll miss it' village just off the highway. It is significant for being one of the ten areas short-listed in 1908 as a site for the Australian Capital Territory. Today it boasts the still functioning Royal Hotel, the Post Office which resides in the old bakery building, a service station, and general store.
