Kew Camping Spots

Kendall Showground

This is a level grassy camping area in the village of Kendall.

Facilities include : NO picnic tables : Camp kitchen with barbecues : Toilets : Water : Showers : Powered and un-powered sites : Dogs are OK - must be kept on a leash at all times : Suitable for all sized caravans : Dump point : Camping fees apply - see the caretaker when you arrive.

From the north, veer left off the Pacific Highway at Kew (signposted Ocean Drive). At the first roundabout turn right and cross over the highway. Continue straight through the next roundabout onto Kendall Road. Travel 2 kilometres, cross the Camden Haven River Bridge and the railway line then turn left onto Comboyne Street. Continue straight ahead off Comboyne Street onto Albert Street then turn left onto Batar Creek Road. The showground is 450 metres on the left.

From the south, veer left off the Pacific Highway onto Nancy Bird Walton Drive at Kew. Turn left past the Information Centre onto Kendall Road. Travel 2 kilometres, cross the Camden Haven River Bridge and the railway line then turn left onto Comboyne Street. Continue straight ahead off Comboyne Street onto Albert Street then turn left onto Batar Creek Road. The showground is 450 metres on the left.

Swans Creek Crossing

This large grassy camping area is within the Kerewong State Forest with a few trees dotted here and there for shade. The road to the camping area is narrow and can be quite rough so take it easy and drive to the conditions. Check with the Kew Information Centre regarding the condition of the road especially after heavy rain, before you head off to the campground.

Facilities include : Covered picnic table : Firepits : Drop toilets : Water- there are several water taps plus a water tank with a tap - water not suitable to drink : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans.

From the north, turn off the Pacific Highway at the Ocean Drive exit. At the roundabout turn right and cross over the highway then continue straight across Nancy Bird Walton Drive towards Kendall and Comboyne. Travel for 2 kilometres to the village of Kendall. Travel past Kendall township along Lorne Road for approximately 4 kilometres then turn right onto Black Creek Road. After 200 metres turn left onto Upsalls Creek Road. Travel for 12 kilometres on this unsealed road to the camping area. Follow the signs to Upsail Creek and Swans Crossing. This road is corrugated in some places and there are some low lying branches.

From the south, turn off the Pacific Highway onto Nancy Bird Walton Drive at Kew then turn left towards Kendall and Comboyne. Travel for 2 kilometres to the village of Kendall. Travel past Kendall township along Lorne Road for approximately 4 kilometres then turn right onto Black Creek Road. After 200 metres turn left onto Upsalls Creek Road. Travel for 12 kilometres on this unsealed road to the camping area. Follow the signs to Upsail Creek and Swans Crossing. This road is corrugated in some places and there are some low lying branches
