Ivanhoe is on Cobb Highway (B75)
Ivanhoe is a small town with a population of approximately 300 (excluding outlying farms). The Cobb Highway is the only sealed road into Ivanhoe. There is a grocery store, café/takeaway, service station with fuel and repairs, tow truck service operated by the NRMA, post office, R.S.L.club, real estate agent, school, airport, ambulance, hospital and railway station. Just south of the town, off the Cobb Highway on Mitchell Street, is the Ivanhoe Warakirri Centre which is a minimum security centre for male inmates only. The inmate population is approximately 80% Aboriginal.
