Guyra is on New England Highway (A15)
DAY USE ONLY REST AREA
This rest area is beside the highway with lots of lovely shady trees. It is used as a Driver/Reviver Station during school holidays, Christmas holidays, Easter and public long weekends so it could be quite busy during these times.
Facilities include : Picnic tables : NO barbecues : Toilets – wheelchair accessible : Water : Rubbish bins provided : Public telephone : Children’s playground : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans.
Located on the western side of the New England Highway just south of the turnoff to Inverell.
OVERNIGHT REST AREA
This rest area is beside the lagoon and not far from the Bowling Club for meals. Dogs are allowed in the overnight rest area but not on the lagoon reserve.
Facilities include : Picnic tables : NO barbecues : Toilets - wheelchair accessible : Water : Rubbish bins provided : Dogs are OK : Suitable for all sized caravans : Maximum stay of 24 hours : Dump point.
Turn west off the New England Highway at Guyra onto Tingha Road (signposted to Inverell. Take the 1st left onto Bradley Street, travel 950 metres through the township of Guyra, then turn right onto McKie Drive. Follow this road for 300 metres and the overnight parking area is just pass the toilets.
This roadhouse and motel is at the top of notorious Devil's Pinch which is subject to snow falls that close the road. The Black Mountain area was a well known haunt of Captain Thunderbolt, and one of his hideout caves is located just off the highway 200 metres to the south of the roadhouse via Thunderbolts Cave Road. The roadhouse is on the corner of Tom Gully Road. This road takes you to the tiny village of Black Mountain which is only 3 kilometres away. At the village is the Black Mountain Baptist Church which was built in 1902 and restored in 1992.

Located on the New England Highway, 11 kilometres south of Guyra and 26 kilometres north of Armidate on the the corner of the New England Highway and Tom Gully Road.
