Bega is a large dairying area and well known for its 'Bega Cheese' which is available in most supermarkets and general stores around the country. Cheese products from Bega are also exported around the world. To get to the Visitor Information Centre, turn east of the Princes Highway at the northern entrance to Bega, (at the roundabout 550 metres north of the Bega River Bridge). Follow the road around to the right and the Information Centre is at the end of the road at the Bega Heritage Centre. There is a picnic area and plenty of parking for buses, caravans and cars.
