Ardlethan is a small service town in the heart of the Riverina. It is a town that came into existence when gold was discovered in the 19th century. Gold mining in the area was short lived but the subsequent discovery of tin resulted in the establishment of a tin mine, which, in its heyday, was the largest in New South Wales. As mining declined the town became a service centre for the surrounding wheat and fat lamb properties. The inevitable grain silos are still the most prominent land mark in the town.

The Ardlethan Newsagency, located in the main street, has a range of tourism information to help you during your visit.
