Adaminaby’s close proximity to Selwyn Snowfields makes the area a popular base for skiers and snowboarders during the winter season from June to October. Throughout the rest of the year, the area attracts visitors who are keen on horse-riding, bushwalking, fishing and water sports. The pristine lakes and rivers of the 'Snowys' offer the best trout fishing in the state. In spring, summer and autumn, fishing for trout takes over as one of the most popular activities, and Lake Eucumbene at Adaminaby is a prime fishing location.

Visitors to the area can pick up tourist information at the Bakehouse/Café/Takeaway shop at 11 Denison Street.
