The Warburton Highway is a loop road off the Maroondah Highway. It runs from just north of Lilydale to Warburton then continues as Acheron Way until it joins up with the Maroondah Highway again just north of the tiny village of Narbethong. It is 70 kilometres long and a 1 hour drive. It is a sealed single carriageway to Warburton (one lane in each direction) with the occasional overtaking lanes provided. Acheron Way is a beautiful forest drive over the Great Dividing Range on a narrow, winding, hilly, sometimes rough sealed road. It is not recommended for caravans but not impossible especially for small caravans.
