The Lasseter Highway runs west from the Stuart Highway at Erldunda to Petermann (The Olgas). It is 295 kilometres long and a 4 hour drive. The sealed highway consists of two lanes and passes through dune fields and dry salt lakes. Kangaroos, cattle and camels are often seen on the highway so be aware especially at night when they are most active. If you come across a road train and decide to pass it, remember that they can be up to 55 metres in length so allow plenty of room to pass safely.
