The Henty Highway runs in a north–south direction starting in the north, 1 kilometre south of Lascelles, at the junction of the Henty Highway and Sunraysia Highway, to the junction of the Henty Highway and Princes Highway, 5 kilometres north of Portland, in the south. It is 351 kilometres long and a 4.15 hour drive. This highway shares other roads along its route which is called multiplexing. These roads are the Princes Highway from Heywood to Portland North for 27 kilometres, Western Highway at Horsham for 3 kilometres, Glenelg Highway at Hamilton for 3 kilometres, Wimmera Highway from Horsham to Dooen for 10 kilometres and the Borung Highway at Warracknabeal for 1 kilometre.
